Matthew Short is an educator, author, and consultant whose career sits at the intersection of the classroom, instructional coaching, and educational leadership. Over more than thirteen years in Texas public schools, he has taught students, coached teachers, led literacy initiatives, and supervised teacher candidates entering the profession.

He holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in [confirm your exact field] from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, and is a two-time alumnus of Sul Ross State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education degrees.

As the founder of ShortEd Solutions, LLC, he works with schools and educators on classroom culture, literacy instruction grounded in the science of reading, and teacher development. He also serves as a clinical supervisor of teacher candidates through Western Governors University, mentoring new educators through their final field experiences.

Matthew is a Ron Clark Academy Global Ambassador and the creator of the S.H.O.R.T. Method — Structure, Humor, Relationships, Ownership, and Trust — a framework for building strong classroom culture. His writing for educators and general readers includes the forthcoming memoir Teach Like You Give a Damn.

He lives and works in the San Antonio area of Texas.
